Former NKY Kid Loading Up on Offers

Featured Replies

Moeller SR Griffin McKenzie used to live in Union if I remember correctly. He is now 6'9 and considered one of the top 2010 players in Ohio.

He has offers from UC, XU, WKU, Tennessee, Wake Forest, Miami O, Ohio U, Ball St, Harvard, and Wright State.

He'd look good suiting up for CCH this year.

Hey, I remember him. Good to hear.

Wonder how tall his little brother is?

Rumor has it his little brother is going to a NKY school in Ft. Mitchell this fall as a freshman.

A very nice kid, BTW. Shame he didn't sick around and play at Ryle, as he would have been a very strong scoring force inside for them.

He had a back injury that kept him out for a while and really slowed his recruitment, but by the end of May it was fully healed and he has blown up since then. Pre injury he was a face up 4 that was kinda soft in the paint, but he totally changed his body in the weight room and is now mixing it up with the big boys and still has a sweet stroke from the perimeter. I interviewed him Tuesday and he is a well spoken and intelligent young man. I was told to look for Stanford and Northwestern to extend offers soon as well...

Coach Kremer says his phone has been ringing a lot re: this young man.

I was told the same thing by the guy that runs the Eric Gordon All Stars. Said his phone hasn't stopped ringing on McKenzie since Monday...

If he did go to Stanford he would be re-joining one of his former teammates Tate Nichols.

They were also members of the same youth football team.

Grif is truly a great kid and I am proud of him. He was kinda unorthodox on the court early on as a kid (grew fast) and then developed a shot and then caught up to his size. He fought through the back issues that I hope are in his past. He deserves all the good that lies ahead. Scary to think how much he would have helped Ryle.

For those interested, they can catch Grif playing Highlands in their opener in Dec.

Good luck kid..........I know Dad is proud (just ask him !)

You won't have to ask him. He'll be more than happy to tell you unsolicited. :D:lol:

Seems like a nice young man. I wish him the best.

Ryle would have been a serious contender for the 9th region title with him, Nichols, Coleman, McLeish, and Stauffer, and would have had a huge starting lineup.

No doubt Grif would have changed the 9th region landscape !

Seeing that the family seems to prefer the all-male Catholic school educational environment I assume you mean that CCH would be closer to battling Holmes.

What is that saying about assumptions....see post #3. Right district. Wrong school.
