Holy Cross (Covington) 2009/2010

Featured Replies

What does Holy Cross (Covington) need to do to improve in 2009/2010? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

They will be missing their best player from last year and unfortunately they are in the same district as Holmes and CovCath. Erik Goetz is a good coach, but he just doesn't have enough talent to contend for district or regional titles. I can't see them making it out of the districts this year.

They're going to have to really be efficient offensively with their motion offense. They won't be big with the only inside scoring threat being Egan. If they can get this current JR and SOPH class some good experience, 2010/2011 should be a solid team.

Saw them play in a couple of summer games and the varisty will be very inexperienced at best. Starting 1 senior 3 juniors with little experience and 1 sophmore.

The JV looked solid both times with only sophmores and freshman playing.

Will be very inexperinced, hopefully can pull it together for an average year. The main problem with the Holy Cross Basketball team is that they have 4 or 5 starters and a few solid bench players who dont even play, ask any one close to the incoming senior class, that is not an exageration what so ever. I'll leave the reasoning to why no one plays to your imagination. :puke:

...and Beechwood. With where the Beechwood program is now and headed in the future, this is a very tough district. Beechwood is undefeated against NKAC Div III over the past two years on the varsity and JV levels and made it to the regional semis last year. Just like last year, the district seed games are going to be huge. Holy Cross, Beechwood and CCH are all going to need that #2 seed to get into the regional.
