June 24, 200917 yr Author I never had a problem with that. For what that's worth. :idunno: Hope I don't either. I'm not too worried about the general pain after the surgery, because I've been in pretty bad pain due to my wisdom teeth already. But I've heard horror stories of dry socket and I do not want it.

But I've heard horror stories of dry socket and I do not want it. I don't know if this really works or not but, a Dental tech told me this before I had mine out. She told me to eat a fresh whole pinapple the night before. Something about the acid, I don't know. I hate about 1/2 of one, maybe 2/3. I didn't have dry socket. That's maybe not a good reason to try it but if you're that concerned, I don't think it would hurt.
June 25, 200917 yr Listen HB, getting your wisdom teeth cut/pulled out is different for everyone. 1. I didn't have any pain period, I got all 4 out on the same day. 2. Dry socket is easy to avoid, just don't suck through any straws or anything like that. 3. I bled a lot after I had mine taken out though, just remember to change your bandaging out.
June 25, 200917 yr Author I'm back. Things went pretty good. Still a little numb right now and bleeding a bit. Don't feel too bad though. Not too much pain right now, it's been about an hour. Still have gauze in my mouth to help with the bleeding so I can't talk much. It went really quick . Hope the bleeding stops soon tho so I can take my pain pills. Gonna go lay down though. Hope it doesn't start hurting too bad. I kept the teeth btw. If anyone wants to see them I'll post a pic!
June 25, 200917 yr Author I forgot about not spitting and I spat up a little blood, but not too much. I didn't spit real violently or anything I sort of just let it come out. Will that hurt me? I changed the gauze in my mouth about 20-30 minutes after the surgery because that's what they said to do. I tried eating a little soup but didn't feel like it. I did take a pain killer though.

If you're referring to spitting and dry socket then as long as you don't do it much or violently you should be okay. I actually sucked through a straw twice but was not affected by it.

I actually sucked through a straw twice but was not affected by it. Cool. I didn't do it violently at all, I basically just let it run out of my mouth . I still have the gauze in, how long did u leave yours in? Mine is still bleeding a bit...

I ending up taking my gauze out the next morning. I bled a lot but by the next morning it had basically stopped... Are you swollen any?
June 25, 200917 yr Author I ending up taking my gauze out the next morning. I bled a lot but by the next morning it had basically stopped... Are you swollen any? No not really bad at all. He gave me something during surgery to stop swelling and I have some pills to take to that will help. I took a pain pill already but i was bleeding a lot so I didn't want to take all the other pills yet. When should I eat and take the rest of my medicine?

I took medicine when I changed gauze as long as it was time too. Probably should eat Jello and what not for a little bit...Do you have dissolving stitches? Or stitches at all? I probably couldn't really eat for at least 3 days or so. I played it safe. If you do try and not chew on either side. Gargling hot water and salt is a suggestion as well.
June 25, 200917 yr Author I'm not meanign eat something hard i mean jello and stuff. I am going to change my gauze again and take some of the pills now then. Thanks.

Oh, I tried eating a frosty and stuff right after I had mine removed but I was too numb and couldn't feel it so I didn't do so well. That night I ate some jello but it was after I changed my gauze.
