Lexington Catholic 10 Harrison County 0

Featured Replies

Lexington Catholic came out and dominated the Thorobreds from start to finish. Harrison County made some costly baserunning mistakes in the top of the 1st inning and it was all down hill after that. Lex Cath hit every pitcher that Harrison put on the mound tonight. Unless they totally overlook Owensboro they should be State Champs again.

I'm not sure if the noon game against Trinity took it out of the Breds or what, but it was a disappointing finish to a great season for the Thorobreds. Best of luck to the 4 Thorobred Seniors, Eric Case, Bobby Feeback, Taylor Hill and Dustin Sellers. It's been fun watching you play.

Nice run for the Breds. Only losing 4 seniors means the machine should keep chugging along in Cynthiana.

They are tough year in and year out.

It doesn't seem like Harrison County will ever go away. Constant young talent equals constant winning. I have a feeling we'll see them back here again. If not next year, then the year after that.

Harrison County will have 6 seniors next year and 8 juniors and many other young players. They should be one of the top teams in the state next year.

Help me break this down Breds Fan. What will it look like next year?

Seniors- Shane Fowler, Josh Moss, Matt Dye, Malcom Thomas

Juniors- Logan Dailey, Eric Sanders

What would the rest of the lineup look like?

I know there's a really young kid that can absolutely mash the ball. Paul Jones I think is is his name?

Shane Fowler will just be a junior but Jared Martin and Drew Thompson are two other strong seniors for the breds.

Is the Jones kid the real good 8th grader that throws in the high 70's? What about the Hill kid that got hurt against Bracken County, what grade will he be in?

I believe he will be a sophomore.

Jared Martin, Dye, Moss, Thomas, Chasteen, and Thompson will be the seniors that lead the team. Fowler, Dailey, and Sanders will be the main juniors. Jordan Martin will be a freshman and was clocked at 81 as an eighth grader. Paul Jones can flat out crush the ball and will be a sophomore. Hunter Hill will be a sophomore next year and is a good ball player but has to be the backup of Moss. Martin, Dye, Thomas, Thompson, and Fowler all batter over .400 this year. While Chasteen, Sanders, Moss and Fowler were all high .300's.

I wouldn't bet against H.Hill starting at catcher and Moss starting in the outfield.

Who would he start over in the outfield? Sanders plays the outfield just as good if not better than Moss and hit the ball better this year.

Dye to ss, Sanders to 2b.

So now Martin plays third and Thompson isnt going to play at all? A kid that makes an amazing triple play and had a great offensive season batting over.400 is not going to play anymore? Sure he could DH but why DH a kid that works hard all year around to play a sophomore catcher with no experience? Personally Harrison County's defense would be way better if Martin played second and Thompson at third with Sanders in the outfield and Moss behind the plate (If he even last).

Time will tell if he lasts and how the Harrison County line-up will shake out.
