Matt Holliday back to the NL?

Featured Replies

Could happen if the A's decide to trade him. Although nothing is certain right now the Braves may enter the mix to try and trade for him towards the deadline to help provide a little more consistency in the outfield.

Could the Reds enter the mix if they are still contending come July?

I'd love to see the Braves get him, if he doesnt come a too steep of a price. Also I'd like to see them get him only if they think they could re-sign him.

Maybe a trade involving Francouer?

I'd love to see him in Cincy and was hoping they would go after him in the offseason last year. I think he would be great with Votto, Phillips and Bruce. That would be a lineup.

The Braves are trying to dangle Francouer but his trade value has diminished greatly. The same could be said for Holliday as well, where he hasn't put up the same power numbers as he did with the Rockies, although that shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.

I read, on another site today, that the A's were not interested in trading him because his value is too low right now because of the slow start he got off too.

I wonder how much Holliday would take to get.

Well he's a half-season rental, and his numbers are less than spectacular so the sooner they act the less they'd probably have to give up, especially if he catches fire towards the deadline.

It was more of an opinion based statement from Onley suggesting that the A's should keep him and other veterans then them actually saying it.

He will be highly sought after, but the A's will not deal him if he is still struggling. They would be better off holding him getting their draft pick for losing a type A free agent. Who knows, a lot can happen in a month. I still think the A's would deal him for 3 big time prospects.

I'd say a lot of teams will want Hanson from the Braves. I don't see them giving him up though.

Braves GM Wren said they could have any Outfielder they wanted if they were willing to give up Hanson but they will not do so at any cost.

I believe that is why Medlen is up in the majors right now, the Braves are showcasing him to try and trade.

Medlen has a little better numbers in the minors doesn't he?

Francouer just hit a clutch homer in the bottom of the 9th to tie it up against the Cubs. I wish he'd keep playing well.

Would be an awesome move for the Redlegs. I've been saying all year this team needs a middle of the lineup right handed power hitter and that will put them over the edge. Jockety really needs to go after him hard.

Medlen and Hanson have both been dominant in the minors, the only reason Medlen was up before Hanson is because Hanson's arbitration starts when he's brought up and they wanted to wait until at least June 1st, so now they can bring him up without having to pay more than they would have he was brought up earlier.

Braves have a big time power prospect in the minors he is about 18 can't remember his name. Begins with a J, I believe.
