Final from Champion Window Field in Florence, Ky.

Not sure if any other regions are able to play with all the rain but there really weren't any problems with the play that were noticeable from the pressbox. The FieldTurf is sucking the water up like a ShamWow.

I believe they are playing at Scott. Campbell is beating Clark 4-1.

CovCath hitting:

Nutini 4 PA 2 run 2 hits 1 hbp and 1 sb

Siemer 4 PA 2 runs 1 hit 1 rbi 1 walk ad 1 k

Maile 4 PA 2 runs 1 hit couble 3 rbi's and 3 walks

Warning 1 run

Darner 4 PA 2 hits 2 rbi's 2 sb and 1 fc

Isler 4 PA 2 hits 3 rbi's

Hoffer 1 cs

Holocher 4 PA 1 walk

Lafever 4 PA 1 run 1 hit 1 walk and 1 fc

Stayton 4 PA 1 run 1 hit double and 1 walk

Martin 4 PA 1 run 1 rbi and 1 walk

CovCath pitching

Krumme (8-0)

100 pitches 7 complete innings 27 PA 3 hits 2 runs 2 earned runs 4 walks 5 k's 1 hbp

The very good:

Ryan Darner will be attending Thomas More College to play baseball along with Brandon Nutini

The bad and ugly: The weather but with the turf at Champion Window Field all the games were played today.

CovCath is now 32-3-1 and will play Newport Central Catholic in the second round of the 9th Region Tournament at Champion Window Field @ 5:30pm

Thanks again Old Guy for your excellent analysis. :thumb:

BTW did anybody notice that CovCath was the only District winner to advance today in the Ninth Region?

Highlands, Dixie and Ryle all lost in the first round, while District losers NCC, Beechwood and Conner move on to the second round.

BTW nice pictures paNDA thanks....

Congrats to the Florence Freedom their staff and ground crew at Champion Window Field. If these games were being played at any other field in NKy, the ninth wouldn't have gotten them in on Monday or even today with the weather forecasted.

In talking to some of the players after the game they all said, other than the ball being wet (heavy, slippery) the footing was great.

It was funny seeing the players sliding to the bases and then grabing on to the base, so they wouldn't slide right on by it.

Maile has broken the lifetime number of walks record, for a CovCath player.

A very nice crowd came out to watch the CovCath vs. St. Henry play considering the time and the rain.

If CCH wins the regional tournament which region will they play or do we still not that yet?

I think its the 10th region winner.

You're absolutely correct. Colv Cath has already locked up 9th region. New cath will not even compete without Connor on the mound. Conner will pitch number 2 pitcher against Beechwood and Myerhoff is handing the ball toanother sophomore. Bob aka "Kenny Rogers The Gambler" Myerhoff is drawing into an inside straight again. Beechwood got lucky yestersay ; but will not happen twice.
