Ahh sorry me. I just got excited about a championship match up as it is the first for the Cougars since 2004! At Conner tonight it was a great game. Possibly the best i have seen all year. No runs were scored until the fourth inning i believe. The first run was on a homerun, not sure by who. 2 of the Rebels 3 runs were scored in the fourth. Both Etscheid and Deno pitched great games. The Rebels looked like they had the game in the bag but Ryle tied it 2-2 and went up 3-2 in the top of the seventh. In the bottom of the seventh The raiders looked like they had it in the bag with 2 outs. Loeksak was on second with Alford at the plate. Alford hits a screamer down the third base line and was misplayed by Hempel. Run scores from second. Going into extras. in the top of the 8th Ryle hit a 3 run homerun, again not sure who hit it (dont know many names!!) which put the Rebels away

Conner is swinging the bats well, so it could be a Cougar kind of day. Good luck to both teams. Ryle will certainly need to hit better tomorrow to pull out the district championship.

It will be the rubber match to break the 1-1-1 record so far this year. Should be a great game.

I am guessing it will be Samad for Conner and Donovan for Ryle.

Hardly see any way this will be anything other than a very close game. I'd be shocked if it was a 10-run rule affair. Remember - these teams have split 3 games down the middle (1-1-1).

I would not be so quick to underestimate the rest of Ryle's pitching staff as they have been very solid all year long. They have Donovan, Hempel, Rogers, Renda, and Imai all available. Everyone of these pitchers have a winning record this year.

I will admit not knowing all of Ryle's pitchers and I'm sure they are all quality. However, it seems every big game had Etcheid and I haven't heard much about the rest. I'm not a Conner follower or fan but I have seen them a few times this year and their hitting is very impresive and I was told Shuttlesworth and Samad are both ready to go. I know Shuttlesworth was hurt earlier in the season but he was being mentioned pre-season as one of the top 5 pitchers in the region. I hope it is a close game as I will be there and enjoy the close ball games, such as last night.

Ryle has played an extremely tough schedule and that should have them prepared for tonights game.

 

I would expect it to be a close game that could go either way. I will take Ryle in a mild upset 4-3.
