May 13, 200917 yr Other than the ones that I listed, of course Courts evolved very nicely when dealing with new issues that arose before it, including custody/visitation involving unmarried parents, grandparent visitation, and many similar issues, and property can be split 3 ways as seamlessly as two. No compelling reason not to allow triad marriages.

May 13, 200917 yr Precisely. I thought it "ended" when marriage was defined between one man and one woman. That was an "end" for centuries. Now, the higher-thinking crowd is changing the law. When you do that, you invite the 'slippery slope.' Then, if we had a system for centuries without devolving into sanctioning unions between humans and animals is broadening the scale of which type of adults are allowed to enter into a union so revolutionary it will force that devolution? Not to mention the difficulties of animals consenting to contracts. Or minors for that matter. As far as polygamist unions, I don't have a problem with them so long as all parties are consenting.
