Wow, checked out the AAU tournament in Nashville this weekend. Watched the Nashville Celtics, Indiana Elite, Derek Smith All stars and Mid-state Ballers make it to the final day of a long weekend.

The Derek Smith 16U team won the championship and really show cased the talent Kentucky High schools will see next year. Their team represents Clark County, Louisville Eastern, Elliott county, Christian County and Warren Central to name a few. In fact, they have 3 players from the Warren Central team in Bowling Green that all played well. Jordan Shanklin, Spence Sheldon and George Fant. If they keep this up, Warren Central may be a team to watch next year.

Good to hear. Is this the team with Timmy Knipp on it? If so, how did he do?

As you can see in the above replys, Timmy did great and yes he is on the team. He strained an ankle half way through tournament but then recovered and scored 27 in championship. He is the real deal.

Quite a few real deals on that team.:dancingpa

Why do you think the coach would force him to play if he isn't ready? Has this coach done this before, playing kids when they are hurt? I thought Purvis played last yr with DS.

I don't think he would be forced to play early or hurt but I don't want to see it happen either. It just sounded like some excitement to get him on the floor for the state AAU in 2 weeks and that just seems early for a player with 2 years of HS ball ahead of him.

He played for DS on their 16U team but with the Ice 15U that won state and faired well at Nationals too. The Ice lost a great player and person in Purvis.

You made it sound like this Coach for the DS would push him to get on the floor earlier than he should. If he is suppose to be this great coach, why would he try to push a kid to play early if he isn't ready. To me that would hurt him in getting any job. But then again I don't know this coach or his history. Is he that kind of a coach that would look out for himself rather than the player?

I am sure that the DS coach will not push anyone back from an injury.

I am sure people are excited for Purvis to get back, not only for the team(s), but for him! He has been out for too long as any player who had/has an injury. The Dr's released him last week, I am confident everyone will listen to the Dr's on what he can and cant do, and it's only been "hoped" that he is able to play in two weeks, not for the team but for him.

Since there is only a few weeks left in the spring season, I would say that he won't be back to seeing considerable PT until July.

I don't think any coach is forcing anyone to do anything. No coach is going to force a kid to do anything.
