April 20, 200917 yr Just for fun these are Owings stats projected over a full season... 22 home runs, 45 doubles and 104 RBI over a 550-at-bats What would Big Z's numbers look like?
April 20, 200917 yr You're my stat man True maybe I will sneak into the Track the Cubs thread and post it for ya.

April 20, 200917 yr Author Based off last season since its a larger sample size, For Zambrano, If he had 550 AB's, he'd project to have: Runs- 59 Hits- 185 Doubles-26 Triples- 7 HR's-26 RBI's-92 SO's-158 Apx BA .337 BB's-0 Slug%-.554 Of course a lot of these had decimals so I had to round up and down on some

And he can pitch a little bit too! :thumb:No walks is kinda funny though. Big Z is looking to go yard all day long!

April 20, 200917 yr He's never saw a pitch he didn't like:lol: Not gonna lie, I chuckled when I saw that. In his 501 carear at-bats,he's walked 6 times That is flat refusing to walk! If he weren't a pitcher i'd bet 5 of the 6 were intentional because he clearly isn't doing it voluntarily.
April 20, 200917 yr Author That is flat refusing to walk! If he weren't a pitcher i'd bet 5 of the 6 were intentional because he clearly isn't doing it voluntarily. He's gonna hurt himself one of these days as hard as he swings, plus he switch hits.

He's got 539 plate appearances so it is pretty close to a full season's worth of numbers. At Bats-501 Runs-52 Hits-118 2Bs-19 3Bs-3 HR-16 RBI-47 BB-6 Ks-179 Avg-.236 OBP-.244 Slg-.381 That's a pretty big sample size and some very impressive stats for a pitcher.
April 20, 200917 yr He's gonna hurt himself one of these days as hard as he swings, plus he switch hits. I never knew he switch hits! As a pitcher thats amazing. And I keep waiting for him to hurt himself too. I've seen him go all the way to a knee a few times with his swings.

In the begining of his carear he wasn't a very good hitter. I think he won the Silver Slugger award last year, so thought I'd go for most recent
April 20, 200917 yr One of my favorite memories is going to a Reds vs Cubs afternoon game sitting in the front row and watching Adam Dunn hit about a 400 ft. foul ball to go down 0-2 and then Z cussing into his glove and telling himself he sucked and everything else. I was a fan of his from then on. It was fun to watch all day.
