Final Congrats to Greenup. Any details East had to throw someone way down their rotation after just getting back from Florida. Who pitched for Greenup?

Martin threw for GC, complete game. East had tying run on 3rd in 7th and couldn't get it across.

The kid from East Carter did a fine job pitching. Also Martin did a great job too. Greenup just did enough to get the win. GC needs some better hitting.

GC had a heck of a time with EC Catcher Ty Back. He really drove the baseball the first two times up.:popcorn:

IMHO Ty Back is the best catcher in the region! Bradford pitched for East Carter and he threw a heck of a game for his 1st varsity start.

Congrats to GC. You guys are right, Greenup needs to start hitting the ball or they'll be in trouble come tourney time.

Greenup County doesn't seem to be as strong as their state team last year. Did they lose much? Are they still favored to win the 16th region again anyway? I like Raceland. They're only 4-6, but have lost four games to quality teams by just 1 run, could easily be 8-2. Boyd County should be thrown into the mix of contenders as well.

Greenup County is probably still the favorite in the 16th, but there are several teams that are much improved. Raceland is a contender, Russell looks to be doing well, and I am sure Boyd County will be there as well.

 

I really look for the 16th to be competitive come playoff time.
