Track the Cardinals (Week #2)

3rd game this year the Cards have scored at least 10 runs. I really like this offense so far, but don't understand why Ludwick isn't starting everyday even against righties.

Its tough to lose Carp especially during a period when the Cards will be playing the Cubs(twice), Mets, Phillies and Braves. Hopefully it's 4 weeks and he comes back strong again.

I totally agree. I think pitching will be the key for them this year.

Cards kinda catching a break with the Cubs battling their own injury issues right now as well

Who is out?

I think they will split the four game series.

Soto has been out till like yesterday. Ramirez and Bradley are both out

CHICAGO -- Yadier Molina hit a tie-breaking single in the seventh inning and Chris Duncan homered and drove in three runs as the Cardinals beat the Cubs, 7-4, in a typically wild battle between the two old rivals at Wrigley Field on Thursday.

St. Louis took a 3-1 lead against starter Sean Marshall on the strength of a Ryan Ludwick RBI single and Duncan's two-run homer. But Kosuke Fukudome hit a three-run shot off of starter Adam Wainwright, who once again was not particularly sharp, giving the Cubs the lead in the fifth. The Redbirds tied the game on a Khalil Greene homer in the sixth before rallying in the seventh.

Chicago 8 St. Louis 7

CHICAGO (AP) -- After striking out three times earlier in the game, Alfonso Soriano hit a two-run homer in the eighth inning Friday, rallying the Chicago Cubs to an 8-7 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals.

It was the second game-winning homer in a week for Soriano, who sent Chris Perez's low 1-2 pitch into the left-field bleachers.

Soriano had struggled against St. Louis starter P.J. Walters, making his major-league debut in place of injured ace Chris Carpenter.

I missed the game. Mowed my yard then worked on my sister-in-law's car. :madman:

Ha I agree. Hope Pujols is ok.

Did they act like it was anything? I didn't see it, just heard it on the radio

Did he get hurt? I didn't see anything mentioned about it on the St. Louis's Post Dispatch or the Cardinals' websites.

He got hit right above the left elbow by Marmol in the 9th. It spun him around and he knelt down for a second. They were looking at it when he was at first, but I never heard anything else about it on ESPN or anything.

As much as I hate to say it, I'm starting to think Pujols could go down as the greatest hitter of all time when its said and done

Chicago beat the Cardinals in extra innings again today 7-5.

I didn't get to finish watching the game. I took my 4 year old grandson to the Lexington Legends game tonight. It was his first baseball.
