Redsfan9 Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 Taylor Smith had a huge day going 2 for 3 with a three run homer and a grand slam. He also had a sac fly for a total of 8 RBI's. Nick Hiller gets the win with 3 strong innings of pitching. E.J. Murray was 1 for 1 with a double and 3 runs scored.

AMoore Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Great to hear that about Taylor. He's a great kid. Strong as an ox, too! Atta boy, T. Smith!
hja1224 Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Scott's starting pitcher did real well and Smith took care of those fast balls left out over the plate. I thought it was real classy after the first pitch for the Scott catcher to bring the ball over to coach Bieger representing the first pitch in Cooper's first season. I also thought coach Bieger's boys regrouped after the 7 runs in the first inning plus and forcing the game into a complete 7 inning game. One of Cooper's three seniors, John Williamson, came in and pitched well. Good luck to both teams this year.

The Cooper boys may not win a lot of games this year but with Biegs they will learn to respect the game and to play it the right way.
