LCPATS Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 RPI Midwest : 42.2 West : 53.25 East : 51.81 South : 52.81 Sagarin Midwest : 36.66 West : 51.56 East : 42.93 South : 52.81 How did the number one overall get the toughest bracket?
LRCW Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 RPI Sagarin Midwest : 42.2 Midwest : 36.66 West : 53.25 West : 51.56 East : 51.81 East : 42.93 South : 52.81 South : 52.81 How did the number one overall get the toughest bracket? Shouldn't that prove that the selection committe doesn't go by the RPI and Sagarin ratings to seed the tournament?
LCPATS Posted March 16, 2009 Author Posted March 16, 2009 Shouldn't that prove that the selection committe doesn't go by the RPI and Sagarin ratings to seed the tournament? No, it shows me that they weigh UofL getting to play at Dayton and Indy more than they do the actual competition.
LCPATS Posted March 16, 2009 Author Posted March 16, 2009 They didn't. How do you figure? UofL (Big East Champ) MSU (Big Ten Champ) KU (Big 12 Champ) Wake (former #1 team) Please, feel free to top that...
LRCW Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 No, it shows me that they weigh UofL getting to play at Dayton and Indy more than they do the actual competition. You may be right. Which way would you rather have it? Play a tougher team close to home, or an easier team farther away?
UKMustangFan Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 How do you figure? UofL (Big East Champ) MSU (Big Ten Champ) KU (Big 12 Champ) Wake (former #1 team) Please, feel free to top that... They are in with the worst #2, the worst #3, and the best #4....That seems pretty darn fair to me.
LCPATS Posted March 16, 2009 Author Posted March 16, 2009 You may be right. Which way would you rather have it? Play a tougher team close to home, or an easier team farther away? Good question, probably about the same. But, personally, I would always wish to play the easier team.
LCPATS Posted March 16, 2009 Author Posted March 16, 2009 They are in with the worst #2, the worst #3, and the best #4....That seems pretty darn fair to me. How do you figure? You never answered who is better. Who has three conference champs, and a former number one to deal with. Tell me which bracket is better.
LCPATS Posted March 16, 2009 Author Posted March 16, 2009 I think going West might be the best thing. Especially this year, the West is cupcake city...
UKMustangFan Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 How do you figure? You never answered who is better. Who has three conference champs, and a former number one to deal with. Tell me which bracket is better. How do I figure? Pretty easily really. When you look at the #2 seeds, Michigan State is worse than Memphis, Duke, or Oklahoma. The #3s, Missouri, Villanova, & Syracuse are better than Kansas. I'll take the East or South over the Midwest.
RockPride Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 How can U of L fans complain about not being more than two hours from home....these are home games for the Cards.....gut up, and win 4.
UKMustangFan Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 How can U of L fans complain about not being more than two hours from home....these are home games for the Cards.....gut up, and win 4. And with the cakewalk they have, that shouldn't be too hard. :thumb:
RockPride Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 I don't think Wake is a cakewalk, though they do have a TO issue, which U of L should be able to exploit.
