That means nothing whatsoever. McCreary destroyed Southwestern twice last year, blew out nearly every 12th region opponent and you see what happened to them. Just because they beat Danville twice (and Danville did beat them once) doesn't mean that they can't lose to them. Didn't Lincoln beat Boyle twice, but escaped in OT?

Danville could win it (if LC plays like they did last night, they will win), but does it really matter. This region is wide open, it really doesn't matter what side of the bracket your are on. I think beating a team twice, does mean something. Danville beat LC on a buzzer beater in, LC beat them by twenty plus and practically without Spurlin the second time.

True, it doesn't matter who wins this game. They're both in the region tournament. But the point being, if Lincoln County doesn't come to play, Danville will be taking the title back home with them.

I just don't think you can compare a team that hasn't made it out of district play the last two seasons, with high expectations, to a team that is the two-time defending champs. Don't really see that myself......:popcorn:

 

Personally, I hope to see McCreary there this year, I want to see Watts play....

The main difference between Lincoln Co. and McCreary Central in the last few years are that Lincoln has managed to get the deal done when it comes to tournament time. McCreary hasn't. Maybe they can right the ship this season. We will find out tonight.

 

As for Lincoln. Boyle gave them a scare on Boyle's home court. But, Lincoln still got the all important WIN.

Lincoln is a better team in my oppinion. However, Danville has a nice young club with tons of talented young men. I just hope it is a good game and everyone stays healthy for the 12th region tournament.

We as adults, who sit at out desks and post all this junk are all probably old, frustrated athletes from long ago and take all this too seriously. This are kids, soon to be young men, that are playing a game. Yes, they are very dedicated to the game and we all love to discuss, argue and watch them play. They are heated rivals now and one day may be best of friends. In the end I hope they all have great memories and stories to tell when they are in our shoes. Good luck to both teams in the district finals and I hope that it's Lincoln and Danville in the Regional Finals. Hope to argue with you all next season!

McCreary was a reference to a SUBJECT/TOPIC. McCreary wasn't the SUBJECT/TOPIC. That is the English for you.

 

I was using their loss to Southwestern as a reference. I could have used any team in that spot, but McCreary was the most relevant because it was the 12th region.

 

McCreary rhetoric? I think not.

 

Let me make this clear and simple: Just because you beat a team twice (like Lincoln vs. Danville this year; McCreary vs. Southwestern last year) and just because you have the best record vs. the 12th region (Lincoln this year; McCreary last year) DOES NOT allow for the assumption that they'll beat Danville. True, Lincoln MAY win, but it won't be because of their previous two wins versus Danville.
