It's scores like this that make me wonder if Tim Riley's Dragons are making one of their patented late-season charges ...

Franklin-Simpson (18-7) -- Dalcourt 5, Murphree 2, Bryant 10, Phillips 2, Bell 4, Curtis 2, Krintz 5, Wickware 4.
Warren Central (20-4) -- Winn 16, Lightfoot 7, Fant 14, King 21, Jackson 4, Wells 4, Boards 8, Barber 3, Sheldon 8.

That's a pretty good F-S team that I know at least had designs on contending for the 4th Region crown. Wow.

Franklin has had a couple of players go down with injury this year, so that's one reason why they've struggled at times, but it the same was true for them 10 days ago when they only lost to Central by 4. This was one of those games where Central had everything going, and when they do that they'll be tough to beat.

Jacob King was 7/13 from three on the night, falling one short of the Warren Central record for threes set by Ryan Anderson in 2004. He started 7/9, but I think someone told him he was close to matching the record because he started to force them a little after that.

A Sweet 16 without Central is a pretty rare event lately.

Did Shanklin not play?

Shanklin is out with a stress fracture. Unsure if/when he'll be back.
