Trinity 41 Clay County 37

Featured Replies

Clay Co fights back from 8 down to take lead late, Trinity hits a 3 to go up 1 with 20 seconds to go.

Clay comes down and gets off a runner with about 4 seconds left, the ball hangs on the rim and is about to fall in for the game winner when a Clay Co player touches it on the rim for a goal tend. From my angle, the call was absolutely correct!

Clay Co bench gets a T and Trinity hits a few free throws for the final spread.

Tough loss for Clay who played a gritty game and had pulled off the victory only to have it taken away!

I believe the Tiger was caught in the net which still counts as basket interference.

I hoped Agriculture Commisioner Richie Farmer would have shown to support his Alma Mater:thumb:

The Rocks have a sparkling record. I believe this may be a little suspect upon closer inspection. Many of the same issues plagued the Rocks. The outside shooting was horrid. Free throw shooting was off (despite hitting three of the final four attempts). I liked Coach's lineup changes to begin the game.

The poster signing was a nice touch post game.:D Fox41 News reported the score as 42-38.

I asked the senior official as we were leaving Steinhauser Gymnasium which he would rather work, a barn burner or a blowout. He said he always prefers to work a close game.

Clay County's coach post game was a bit over the line if you ask me.

He kept screaming how the refs took the game away from his team. I guess he expected the officials to swallow their whistle and ignoe an obvious offensive goaltend.

Not the best example to set for his players if you ask me.

The correct final score was 42-38.

The goal-tending call was a correct call. The ball was still rolling on the rim when the Clay County player got into the net. I couldn't tell if it would have fallen in for a basket or not. The Clay County coach really showed his rump after that.

It was my understanding that Trinity was missing a few players for this game? Is this correct?

I don't think there were many, if any, players missing. The starting line-up was shuffled extensively but I don't recall players not being there.

No Trinity players were unavailable for playing time.

I heard that they were being disciplined for some reason. Coach got his point across and they still got the win. It's all good!:ylsuper:

Let's simply call it "lack of team focus".
