Big win for AC tonight. Fultz had 16, Davenport 17 and Mckee came off the bench and scored 13.

Anderson led by double digits most of the game, Shelby made a run in the fourth quarter but Anderson withstood. Huge game with District seeding implications.

Congrats to Anderson Co. Coach Kays has another good team this year.

Congrats to both teams, as it was a fierce and competitive game. Unfortunately, it was too brutal. Girls' basketball - or baksetball in general - is not supposed to be an application of Darwin's theory played out on the hardwood.

When two bitter rivals meet, it rarely is pretty.

The officials let them play. Any time Anderson and Shelby play it is going to be physical. Fultz and Davenport both played well. Brown showed flashes at times. The McKee girl looked outstanding. 20+ points in the JV game, and 13 points in just over a quarter of action in the varsity game

What about Shelby, did anyone play well for them? Was the game really that physical? Was it a typical homer game or was it pretty well officiated?

Shaw had 20 pts for Shelby. It wasn't THAT physical. However, it was physical on both ends. I'd say it was well officiated based on the fact it was consistent.

Thanks, glad to hear about Shaw, she has really played hard. They need to find a consistent scorer to be a contender. I would say they have no one averaging double figures.

Lecompte is. Here is their scoring breakdown.

Anderson hadn't beaten Shelby in 11 years. It was a huge win for the Anderson County girls. Mckee was the difference IMO. She was huge down the stretch.

Isn't she a 7th grader or am I mistaken?

McKee is a seventh grader.
