Tubby Says He's Staying Put

I talked to a guy last night that said he was pretty good friends with Tubby. He talked to Tubby on the phone several days ago and Smith supposedly said he had been contacted by a couple of schools to see if there was any interest in leaving Minnesota. Tubby allegedly told this guy that he was happy in Minnesota and planned to stay there and build a nice program. This guy also claimed that Tubby was critical of BCG and didn't care much for his philsophy as the coach of Kentucky.

Again, this was just a conversation at the Hyatt lobby last night, but I figured we could still talk about it on here :thumb:

I'm glad that's the way Tubby sees things, both about Minnesota and Billy G

What aspects of BCG's philosophy was Tubby critical of?

I think he was alluding to game preparation and adaptation.

Tubby and Minnesota are a fit, a match made in heaven so to speak. He has an extremely good recruiting class coming in and really loses no one for this year's squad. He would be crazy to leave the Golden Gophers!

Tubby does not seem like the type of coach/man to talk about another coach and his philosophy!

He's allowed to have an opinion.

Read my statement and see if I said he was not allowed to have an opinion. I just do not think (my opinion) that Tubby would do that and run another coach down, especially BCG and UK!

Ah, I never in any way spoke it as fact. I was just repeating a conversation I had with a guy that claimed to be a good friend of Tubby.
