Does anyone have some insight about why Simon Kenton may not be breaking the top 20 in this new pole? They have been listed off and on this season. They were very strong against E-Town and Butler at Lexington while beating Rockcastle, Conner and someone else (IDR) in the same tournament and defeated Highlands this past Saturday in the Kenton County Classic Championship Finals? Defensively playing very strong and with Brown (Jr.) playing for the first time this season (shoulder surgery in Oct.) strong as the sixth man they look very sharp. Offensively they hit (15) 3's in a single game last week with 5 girls finishing in doubles. They turned it around the next night and beat Highlands with defense. :confused:

I don't think it helps to lobby the guru.

Hard to figure SK's absence with wins over Rockcastle (ranked, and won without their best player), and Highlands (ranked). Their four losses have come by a grand total of 22 points vs. Butler (ranked), Newport Central Catholic (they beat NCC in the rematch), Etown (ranked), and Notre Dame. They're on a 5 game winning streak...

 

They'll have their chance to prove themselves over their last 8 games with matchups against a tough Ryle team, Campbell County, Lexington Catholic, and another matchup with Highlands.

 

I personally think Rowan is top 10 caliber, but their schedule has given them really only the one great opportunity to shine, so I understand why they aren't ranked higher. Wins over Boone County, Lafayette, and Notre Dame would solid... I guess it's hard for me to understand how a team that beat the #2 / #1 (depends on poll and week) team, Manual, and who is undefeated against decent competition, if not spectacular, is ranked this low. They'll get their chance...upcoming games will enlighten against Lexington Catholic, Lexington Christian, Montgomery County, and East Carter.

 

I like this ranking methology, though. Requires more effort and is simply far more defensible.
