Ashland 97 Boyd County 67

Featured Replies

Well, due to the proximity to each other this will always be a big rivalry due to tradition. It's true that neither team are the powerhouses they once were. The first time out this year Ashland scored over 100 points playing BC on their own court. It's a shame that both teams have endured the loss of some key players.

Ask the Ticket Office at each school if this is still a Rivalry? I would say both teams didnt make much money on these games.

Someone told me the other day that Boyd County hasnt brought the top set of bleachers out all year. I remember years ago, even the top bleachers was almost full.

Gonna be a tough job for the Staff to bring the tradition back to Boyd.

Boyd has lost Wes Steele(Starting Point Guard), Zach Wilson (Starter-Best Athlete), Zach Messer(6'8" Center-should have started), Kevin Stewart and Donnie Bryant - Both hard nosed defensive players.

Did Steele and Messer quit.

Yes, everyone on the list quit. No injuries.

Hey if they keep quiting the middle school season will be over in a couple of weeks if they will need players to finish the season.:ohbrother::isurrender:

I am sure between JV and Varsity that there are still plenty of players that will be giving a strong effort each night, win or lose.

Actually there are some injuries from what I understand.

I was at the Boyd/Elliott game earlier this year at Boyd Co. and it looked like Elliott County had more fans there than Boyd County did.

Not surprising with the powerhouse Elliott is currently. People will travel to watch a great team.
