bigblue88 Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Here is the write up from Cincinnati.com: Alex Hall made a layup with six seconds remaining in overtime to lift Ludlow to a 64-63 win over Villa Madonna in the first round of the boys' Ninth Region Touchstone Energy All "A" Classic Monday night at Newport. Hall, a junior forward, finished with 13 points, including three 3-pointers. Ludlow senior forward Kyle Williamson scored 14 points in the fourth quarter and overtime and totaled 19 for the Panthers (4-13). The Blue Lightning were led by point guard Blake Bryan, who scored a game-high 25 points. Bryan went 12-for-16 from the free throw line. David Schuh nailed four 3-pointers and scored 20 for Villa Madonna (5-13). Ludlow advances to face Dayton, Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Newport.
buttels Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 That's a big win for Ludlow. Their season not going as they thought it might. Hopefully, a confidence booster for the game against Dayton.
AirYardGo Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Great win for Ludlow against a big District rival.
Nkysportsblog Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 I honestly thought Bryan got fouled on the last play of the game, and while I know you never get the call at the end it wasn't like a ticky-tack foul someone looked to have a firm grasp on his arm and pulled him down. Big no call, but Ludlow definitely stepped up in this one. Williamson had a huge fourth quarter, and Hall carried them in the first half. Bryan really struggled just getting anything to go down. He got to the rim time and time again only to miss a floater or a 5-foot pull up. He still ended up with 25 points though, and made big plays down the stretch to keep Villa in it. Schuh also had a very nice game for the Blue Lightning hitting some big threes, and showed more athleticism on his drives than I've seen in the past.

Nkysportsblog Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 I really like Schuh's game, is he a senior? No he's just a junior. He and Bryan will make a tough tandem next year.
