After the Wolverines get through with district play you will agree that they are Warriors. They will be Warriors next season as far as other district foes are concerned. North's last two years were glory days as far their meager output has been. North is an also ran as far into the future that anyone with football knowledge can see.:fire:

Glory days are ahead for NO. This is just the beginning for the mustangs. OC has the rich tradition. SO has been around long enough to be considered a legal adult. NO 6 years old. Great accomplishments from them with better days ahead.

Western Hills will have the most returning starters in the district and did play NO to the wire last year, but this might be the most competative 3A district in the state. Western Hills looks to have the type of year NO had last season with another year of experience and in the weight room for a talented Junior class. Still do not understand the fake punt in last years game either! Hard to fool a team when the player lined up to "punt" had surgery the previous week to put screws in a broken finger and hand is entirely casted. The WH kid (#7) showed a lot of toughness and had a good game (12 tackles and a sack); but wrong kid to line up in that situation. Look forward to a great matchup with NO at the Hills this season.

Actually that is not the case, OC scheduled St. X, Shelby, and other traditional opponents. North Oldham had Danville, Mercer, Lloyd,Newport, Frankfort, so both had tough schedules. Both teams had tough schedules, and just did not have room or interest. I believe in two yrs, the next time the schedules are up, you will see a game. I believe the last two years would have been really interesting games. Both programs are heading in the right direction. I have heard Coach Martin does not like to play 6A teams when the are only a 3a team. As a general rule, a poor 6a team can beat a solid 3a team just because of numbers. I know on the next schedule North plays South, East Jessamine,J-Town, Moore, Ft. Knox,Trimble,CAL and then their district opponents. Three of those opponents are in bigger divisions, and three are smaller, 4 are in 3a. If North does not play well they could easily lose some of these games and we know the district is going to be real competetive.

If I am not mistaken, didn't almost all of North Oldham's district take away from South Oldham? If so, isn't South Oldham trying to make up for the loss of these kids that play at North? For the past 5 years, I would bet that North Oldham has graduated more senior football players than South Oldham.

Most of North's kids came from South, but no, NO has hardly graduated a lot of seniors. North had barely had enough kids the first three years to play a 1A or 2A schedule...

 

By the way, Knute, Oldham is a 5A team, not a 6A squad. North has had a 6A team on its schedule for at least the last couple of years in Bullitt Central, however, the Mustangs only other "large" opponent is South (5A).

Col. Mike - Thanks for the answer and I agree that we should be beating up on other schools. It just seems to me that the hype that is stirred by playing the other county schools is wild. Be it Football, Basketball or Baseball. Trash is talked, fur flies, and it can get a little dirty, but what fun. I just see an OC vs NO game as a money making, trash talking, smackdown, that should stir a lot of interest in the county. South has always played OC, even when they were different classes.

 

I just think the last couple of years would have been fun to see a OC vs NO game.

The last two years would have been interesting games, indeed.

 

And it probably will happen, although not in the next two seasons.
