Boyle County 59 Shelby County 55

Final.

The Rebels dug out a good win. I don't have the final stats but I know Aumiller had a good game after a slow start and Glasscock played well also. It's good to get a win before the Danville game.

Good job Rebels!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is this an upset? Don't know much about Boyle, but I know Shelby's pretty good this year, despite their record.

Shelby is 6-6, but they didn't really have a good win. Honestly, a holiday tournament win over a 7-8 Rockcastle County team is likely their best win.

Boyle got this win at home, improving to 3-9. Boyle got off to a slow start. Much of that likely could be blamed on a late-start from football. But the Rebels traditionally get better as the year progresses.

So long answer short...very, very mild upset.:thumb:

Shelby is playing some young players, and has some nice athletes. I wouldn't count them out for the region this year...they lost to an awfully good Anderson County team by just 4 in Lawrenceburg...and Anderson has certainly proven itself on the court against the top teams in KY...

I was at game tonight and Shelby started an 8th grader. Both teams were very sloppy the first half but both played much better the second half. This did not appear to be one of Shelby Co. teams they have had the last 4 or 5 years. They were athletic but did not shoot the ball very well. They were very physical on the defensive end. Good win for Boyle, we are now 3-9 and by far our biggest win of the season.

Just so you know Boyle is now 5-9 with wins over Monticello, Somerset, Scott Co. Tenn. at McCreary Co. a win over South Floyd at Corbin and last nights win over Shelby Co. I think Aumiller had 19 and Glasscock 14 for the Rebels:thumb:

Does anyone have scoring breakdown for Shelby County?

I cannot imagine a school like Shelby with the number of athletes that they have, starting an 8th grader. Is the kid an exceptional talent and ready fro big time varsity ball?

That is exactly what I said at the game the other night. He was in foul trouble most of the night and was not a factor. He hit one big 3 late in the game. He has the looks to be a big time player but most years he would probably not be a varsity player for Shelby. Looks like a rebuilding year for them.

I was going to say something like that myself. I knew we went 3-1 at the McCreary tournament and that we won 1 game at the Cumberland Falls tourney and then the win last night made it 5. Things are lookingup. Let's get that first district win at Danville.

And on a side note, tonight is Dine to Donate night at the Applebee's in Danville. All Boyle County fans and residents are asked to Dine in at the Applebee's tonight between 6-10pm and 10% of your bill will donated to the BCHS Boys Basketball Booster Club. Come support the team tonight at Applebee's from 6-10pm. It costs you nothing but your patronage to Applebee's tonight to support the team.

Is this the same Shelby County that has given George Rogers Clark and Franklin County all they want?

I am feeling better and better about how Boyle County is progressing every game I see.
