Boyle was definitely over matched by South Laurel. I must say that off the bat.

 

The officiating for the Boyle-South Laurel game was horrendous. The first technical, I agree, Coach wanted that one, but I have never, ever in the history of all the basketball games that I have attended see a coach get t'd up for saying "thank you". That is what happened. Some may call it "showing up Kirk", but Coach Adams said "thank you" after calling a time out and receiving the time out. How is that showing up and even if it is "showing up" the ref, by saying "thank you" is that really deserving of a technical? No referee should become bigger than the game and I feel that is what he became. It looked like they threw out one of our fans as well. Like I said, South Laurel was the better team. They didn't need the extra help from the refs.

 

Does anyone know how many blocks Saint John ended up with? When he didn't block the shot he affected it. I was very impressed with his skill level with his size/shape. He doesn't look like a big man that will do damage, but he does do damage. I was very impressed. I'd like to know his entire stat line for the game. It seemed like the only thing he missed were free throws.

The one official enjoys attention.............and will do whatever necessary to get it.:irked: South Laurel was the better team, but the fans come to watch the kids play, not the officials.

That's the fan I was talking about. I wasn't sure if that was the bus driver or not. I thought it might have been. I believe he is our baseball coach if it is who I think it is.

South Laurel started off the game on a 22-6 run and that deficit proved to be too much too overcome. I think we came out flat and that hurt us a little. Aumiller also tweaked his shoulder I think, and that hindered his effectiveness and his aggressiveness. I worry about his shoulder and how it will mentally affect him.

He hurt it again today

When St. John got in foul trouble South really struggled. They need to develop some of the young kids or they will be sent home early. Little Smith and Sizemore look like they could fit that role.
