Holmes gets a win led by Housley with 14, Pittman 8, D.Johnson 4, R.Johnson7, Riley 9, Arnold 2, Slusher 2, Rice 2, Herndon 3, J.Johnson 8.......Knox Central was led by Messmer 15, Miller 6, Ledford 3, Brough 3,Brown 4, Diamond 2, Barger 1, Barret 1.

From what I hear, this game actually wasn't even close as the score might indicate. :scared:

Miller held to 6 points!

Sounds like Holmes is starting to step the defense up. First they hold SC to their lowest point total of the season, and now they hold a pretty solid KC team to just 35 points.

I see Rice in the box score, so I would think the bench seen good minutes in this one. A good test coming against Ballard. Ricardo is really due to break out.

I'm sure Henley used all of his bench for this one. KC didn't have much heighth so it was easier for him to go deeper in his bench.

Good to see Housely finally had a breakout game with 14 points.

It sure would be nice if Holmes and Station meet again. I think the young dogs are playing with a chip on there shoulders on defense every since that game. It would be another great test early.

Congrats Holmes

Looks like Riley and Holmes hot shooting from outside was on full display again last night.

Riley probably had a bad night, like 3-4 on threes. That young man is an amazing shooter, not to mention a great little point guard.

Riley, is lights out from the tre'. I still think Riley's best days are in front of him. He still is growing into a starter at Holmes. By years end he will be scary. [imo] He is the type shooter that can carry a team for two or three games in a tournament.

I got the official stats in an email this morning. He was 3 for 3. That now puts him at 16 for 19 on the year from behind the arc.

He's shooting 84% so far through 5 games.

84% thats amazing. [iMO] The only person that can stop Riley, is RILEY. If he stays aggressive and get his shots up there is no answer. Sometimes he is to much of a PG and to unselfish. I still say he doesn't shoot the ball enough. I would like to see at least 10 to 12 shots a game for him.

Needs to do some work, maybe get extra shots up.

I agree. But then again, when you have players like the Johnson Brothers and Pittman, no need to shoot that much. I'd like to see him shoot in the 6-8 range. He has a good enough shot that he doesn't need to shoot no more than 8 times a game IMO.

I agree. 84% just isn't good enough from outside.

In all seriousness, I wouldn't be surprised to see him lead the state in FG and 3 pt % this year.
