December 19, 200817 yr The Lakers, Cavs and Celtics look like they're a notch above the rest of league. Right now, I think Cleveland may be the team standing when its all said and done. Mo Williams has been a huge addition and I think the rest of the team has developed and started to mesh with Lebron...they're a scary team to me. I'm glad the Lakers are in the opposite conference. I think the Lakers are perfectly built for the regular season and they have a shot at 70 if they stay healthy. In the playoffs New Orleans and San Antonio will give them all they want and either of those teams could easily beat them. Cleveland probably isn't done adding pieces. The Eastern Conference Finals should be absolutely outstanding to watch.

The Eastern Conference Finals should be absolutely outstanding to watch. I think the Rockets have the best chance to challenge LA, if they can stay healthy and put the pieces together...with Alston, T-Mac, Artest, Yao, Battier, Hayes, etc...they're well-rounded and very talented. But, if the Lakers are healthy, I don't see them being denied a return trip to the NBA Finals to face Cleveland or Boston. Simply put, they're just better than the rest of the west. New Orleans and San Antonio aren't good enough to beat them 4 out 7.
December 19, 200817 yr No offense but: Question: Who cares? Answer: Nobody It's the NBA. Defense is just about meaningless, as sad as that is, which is why I hate the NBA Not watch much N.B.A basketball? The guys play defense, they are just so good on the offensive end its hard to stop them. You play off on them, they make 15 footers with ease. You get up and take away the shot, they go right by you. It is as simple as that. Its hard to defend 5 scores.
December 19, 200817 yr The Lakers Defense will gel more fluidly by seasons end. They are still getting used to Odom coming off the bench, and having Bynum play a more important role.

December 20, 200817 yr IMO, Odom should start at SF. He is much better than Vlad. I don't disagree, but I felt that the Lakers, to be great, needs to have a great 6th man. I think that Odom could be that guy and it seems to me that he is beginning to accept that role.

December 20, 200817 yr The thought that the NBA does not play any defense is absolutely incorrect. Short shot clock & the world's best shooters make it difficult to stop a team from scoring. If there was no defense, then players like Chris Lofton would be a franchise player in the NBA.
December 20, 200817 yr Yeah on a horrible team. I wouldn't say a horrible team.. Look what LeBron did with his team 2 years ago, who did he have?
December 21, 200817 yr I wouldn't say a horrible team.. Look what LeBron did with his team 2 years ago, who did he have? A pretty darn good big guy for starters. That team Kobe was on was terrible.

December 21, 200817 yr A pretty darn good big guy for starters. That team Kobe was on was terrible. How was that? They had Kobe, Odom, Caron Butler, Chucky Atkins. They might not have had the dominant big man, but they were not a terrible team. LeBron's team he had in 2006-2007 that went to the finals was much like Kobe's team in 04-05. LeBron took his team all the way to the finals, something Bryant hasn't done without a dominant/solid big man. Basically I turned on the Lakers when Bryant was being called the next Jordan. James to me is better because what he has done with his teams who have been fairly weak..

December 21, 200817 yr Big Z was compariable with Gasol at that time. Lebron hasn't taken his team the to Finals without a good big man eitehr. Not to mention how weak the East was back then.
