November 20, 200817 yr So what happens if Boise State and Utah both finish the season undefeated? Do both get into the BCS? Also if Oregon State wins out, the Pac10, SEC, & Big 12 would all have 2 teams make the BCS....So, if both those teams are undefeated, is there anyway that one of them could get in over the conference champion from one of the terrible conferences like the BEast or ACC?

November 20, 200817 yr Author Nope. Big East and ACC are in... I thought there was something that said if they aren't in the top 16 of the final BCS standings they can be passed over?
November 20, 200817 yr I thought there was something that said if they aren't in the top 16 of the final BCS standings they can be passed over? 100% false. The Big 6 are locks...
November 20, 200817 yr Author Well that's just dumb....No way should teams from those conferences be in over the likes of a Utah, Boise State, or even BYU this year.

November 20, 200817 yr Author Utah, Boise St and "even BYU" would not be in the conversation if they played in the ACC or Big East. Sorry to burst your bubble... Just like Boise State two years ago didn't belong right? Or Utah a couple years before that?
November 20, 200817 yr Just like Boise State two years ago didn't belong right? Or Utah a couple years before that? They did belong. And the bad conferences that year got the auto bid. They can still make it, it will just replace one of the two big conference bids...
November 20, 200817 yr Author BCS is simply to ensure "1 vs 2"... I realize that, but if that's the case, then why have the automatic conference bids when it's clear that some conferences don't deserve it?

November 20, 200817 yr Author You're advocating "some conferences don't deserve it" and pushing for THREE mid-major spots. Classic... No, I'm saying that they should do away with the automatic tie-ins so that the best teams can play in the 5 BCS games. In a year like this, I think teams like Utah and Boise State both belong. Other years, like last year, it was obvious all year that a team like Hawaii didn't.

It's two teams fighting for one spot because the Big 12 and SEC are great at the top, and the Little 11 and Pac 10 have 2nd place teams with tradition. The "elite" is pushing out the little guy. I'd love to see Boise or Utah in this Big East or ACC. No way they survive and sit where they are now...

I disagree with the 2nd part....I think in most years, you'd be right, but this year I think Utah and Boise could go through either conference....We'll probably get to see soon enough though, as I'd imagine one of those conference winners will be paired up against either Boise or Utah.
