Best Boys Tournaments 08/09 (USAToday)

No surprise that Myrtle Beach is in USA Today's top list. Myrtle Beach (Beach Ball Classic) has some national heavyweights in Arlington Country Day, St. Patrick's, Wheeler (GA), Martin Luther King, and Boy's & Girl's New York among others. Should get a good picture of how Elliott County stacks up against some of the nation's elite teams. This will by far be the biggest stage that any Elliott County team in history has been on. Should help prepare them for another stage in March called Rupp Arena and the Sweet Sixteen..................

Good luck to the Lions!!!

Saw that the Marshall Co KY Hoop Fest is at the top of the list. Great tourney they put on.:thumb:

They don't have to worry about conference games, district or local rivalries!

I have played against Oak Hill and to be honest, they don't really have to worry about much at all. They are basically a college team - or at least they were when I played against them.

Take it any way you want doc, I really meant that as a compliment, they will be very good this year with probably 4 D1 talents in their starting lineup. Don't think I will be sleeping when I watch them this season.

Fair enough. But you must admit, the sentiment towards them isn't exactly rosey, and quite frankly tired. But I believe your view to be different. Either way, it's nice to see KY teams in these big tourneys.

They are a few levels above Scott county. When I played against them, I had the privilege (whether that is good or bad is debateable) of playing against two future NBA players.

I think Scott County has been cut a lot of slack. If it were a private that had their situation, there would be no end to the discussion. I guess on second thought maybe there isn't anyway...
