I don't get to see any of them play, so that's why I believe Grayson County can win. I also know that the interest in football is up in Grayson Co in the last two years, and that this game is at home which is awesome for them.

I've seen them both play, and the homer (and realist) in me believes that Warren Central should have won both of those games. The difference is that Hopkinsville looked dominant after a first quarter in which they turned it over three times. It says a lot that they turned it over 3 times, gave up no points off of those turnovers, and were up 21-3 before Central staged a comeback. Grayson on the other hand was gifted many opportunities by the Dragons, including an 80 yard TD called back for holding, another 40 or so yard TD called back for a block in the back, and the greatest gift of all being that they started a QB (and stubbornly refused to switch from) that cannot pass the ball. And yet still Central led that game 12-7 before Grayson scored on their last drive of the game. The QB that played the entire game against Grayson (and only one of those two TDs was by the offense), played the first 2.75 quarters against Hopkinsville, and was replaced while Central was down 21-3. Quenton Smith led the Dragons to a TD on every drive he was in against Hopkinsville. There will never be a single thing that will change my belief that if they had played him against Grayson (that is somewhere other than 4 snaps at WR,a perfect place for a pro-set QB) that Central would have won that game.

 

A further example of why I believe that came the previous year when Smith threw for three TDs in the first half of their game against Grayson, leading them to a 28-14 lead, and then was inexplicably replaced at halftime. Halcomb (the very same QB that played the whole game against Grayson this year) led the Dragons to 31 yards of offense, no first downs, and two INTs, including one that Grayson returned to draw within 28-21, the final score. Quenton Smith had a single TD pass in the first half for more yards than the Dragons had in the second.

 

It's great for Grayson that they got the home playoff game, it really is. And I'm sure they don't care one whit how they got it, and it will go down in the history books as a win for them over Warren Central. But when making a comparison between Grayson and Hopkinsville, the three point and two point margins tell incredibly little about the two teams, and firsthand experience leads me to believe that Hopkinsville will win this game rather easily. If I'm wrong, I'll happily eat crow tomorrow.

Like I said, I haven't seen their games. I had only one small piece of info to go on. There are never any threads discussing Grayson County games, so I couldn't go there. I talk to my family but they don't give me the info I need. :lol:

 

Your assessment sounds fair enough. And, I wasn't trying to "down" WC. I just didn't have any info from which to draw a conclusion.
