Warren Cent. 28 Bardstown 27 OT

Bardstown gets a 1-yard TD by TJ Downs to cut it to 28-27, but Rashaun Phillips is stopped on the goal line on the conversion try for the win.

Bardstown had first-half leads of 14-0 and 21-7, but three big turnovers after halftime hurt dearly, including an INT when they were driving to go up 28-14 midway through the third quarter.

Tabarus Mitchell of WC had a monster game, scoring all four of the Dragons' TDs (34, 14, 50, 10), and his elusive running was huge in the second half. Downs got three of the four Tiger TDs, including an electrifying 65-yard run where he ran free to the left sideline, did a 360 at the 20 to make two WC defenders miss, and ran all the way back toward the middle of the field for the score.

I'll probably have more to say about the game tomorrow, but this was a much needed win for the Dragons, and despite the general sloppiness of the game, I'll take it.

It was unfortunate that #82 Brad Rice for Central had his high school career ended tonight with a compound fracture of his right leg. It occurred on Bardstown's second drive of the night, and he had come in close to the pile at the conclusion of the play, and a player rolled over onto his leg, breaking it between the shin and knee cap.

How much time was there? Hindsight, should they have gone for the tie, or was it the right decision to go for two?

It was in overtime, the decision to go for two was appropriate because Bardstown wasn't going to be stopping anyone in the second half. However, the Tigers tried to run a trick play that wasn't to tricky. I would have preferred triple option.

I agree go for the win.

Good decision to go for win, but a great stop by the Dragons.

I didn't attend the game, but read that it was a fake extra point that the Tigers ran on the last play of the game. Must have been a great one to watch.

The Tigers lined up their 230 lb. fullback as a kicker and a 280 lb. lineman as the holder. Both of them took some time getting "situated." By the time they snapped it, WC was pretty "aware."

I would like to say this was an exciting game to watch, but with both teams it was a clinic on how "not" to tackle.

Enough negative, its a new season now, playoffs begin Friday, lets hope the Tigers rip the Hornets!
