A little background ... this is from last Thursday's quarterfinal match between Heath and Henderson County. With the score tied 1-1, Heath's Brock Jordan was assessed a red card with about 30 minutes left in the match for throwing a punch. Heath played a man down for the rest of the match and lost 2-1 on a goal with 27 seconds left.

 

The catch ... a video of the play doesn't appear to show him throwing a punch.

It's sad but that is the way soccer is when it comes to the officials.They can control the game anyway they want and they sometimes do.I was watching a girls region game and there was no score in the second half.A girl had just entered the box with the ball and was tripped from behind.The ref called the foul but put the ball outside the box instead of a penalty kick.Game went to a shoot out and the other team won.

You weren't at the NKU/Lincoln Memorial NCAA DII national quarterfinal match last year. Nothing as totally bad but a lot of things sorta like that that ended up going uncalled against LMU but called against NKU.

 

Now my main question is...Mr. Jordan play any other sports? If so, he'll have to sit out the first game/match of the next sport he plays.

Jordan plays basketball and soccer ... he will probably be Heath's point guard.

He will have to sit out three games unless they win the appeal.

Very clearly a bad call. Sometimes I think getting these things on film only seems to increase the frustration and anger over it. Hopefully the one good thing that might come out of the video is that this young man isnt penalized for his next game.

I got a red card my Jr. year down state in soccer and we lost. I had to sit the 1st game of the soccer season my Sr. year. I played basketball and didn't have to sit out. If he is a Sr. he might have to sit out a game for the next KHSAA saction game he plays in.
