Who ends up where and who would you like the Reds to go after?

 

I really want them to think about Rocco Baldelli. Someone that can probably come cheap. He has some risk because of injuries but thats the kind of thing a team like the Reds needs to take a risk on IMO.

If Cincinnati is active this offseason, I hope its through trades and not the free agent market. They can't fill their needs with this free agent class.

No thanks. Nomar doesn't have enough left in the tank to be a worthwhile expenditure.

That list is very underwhelming. I wouldn't mind taking a chance on Baldelli, injuries would be a concern, but for the right price I would be happy.

I also wouldn't mind Cincinnati taking a chance on Edgar Renteria for the right price. I understand they still owe Alex Gonzalez money, but sometimes you just have to realize a bad investment. Renteria has always done well in the NL.

And would cost a helluva lot more and still wouldn't be an every day player. Hairston was good for the team because he was low risk/high reward. He can't play every day either, but his injuries are more due to wear and tear, unlike Baldelli's strange medical problems.

Some people are too old school. Sometimes going by the book to much will hurt you. I'm willing to bet Votto hit lefties just as good as he hit righties last season. They need more hitters like him.
