Guess we'll just have to consider this a moot point since we'll never know. But as far as Lloyd having 3 D1 players I doubt that very seriously. Do you realize what it takes to play D1 football? Guidugli, Collinsworth, Conner, and Dempsey are probably the only kids on Highlands team who will go D1 and the kids you mentioned are no where near the level that those are.

 

I played at UC back in my day as a preferred walk on and it takes a lot more than size to play at the D1 level. I'm sure those kids are nice players but doubt very seriously all 3 of them have/had D1 potential.

 

I agree. Three D1 players is a lot.

Brendon Gregory is 6'4 210 Lbs, and would have went D-1. Jake Kramer is 6'3 175 Lbs, and would have went D-1. Andrew Brinkman is 5'11 195 Lbs, and could have went D-2. Brinkman was the teams leading tackler before he broke his jaw. Roger Herthel will go D-1 and he's still not even 100 percent yet after his knee surgery. If both teams had no injuries, the result would be exactly the same, if not worse for Holmes. Holmes lost to a much smaller school, and you're trying to make excuses for it. BTW, last year Holmes had two special teams TD's which is why they won. Offensively and defensively, they were equal.

 

I am sorry, but I totally disagree with this. I do not think a single one of these players could go D1. JMO though.

Herthel had an offer to EKU but had it removed when he hurt his knee this year. But he will probably get his offer back by the end of the season. Brendon would have either walked on to EKU or went to somewhere local. This was Jakes first year of football, so he had a ton of room for improvement. But he's out for the season so his days of football are done. There are also 2 other players from Lloyd who are probably going to walk on at EKU. So make that 5 potential D-1 players this year. I never said they would all recieve scholarships, because they won't. Only one will.
