It's been a while since someone from the Louisville area has competed for Mr. Basketball. It will be a real treat to see Jenkins play in the 7th region this year. Don't miss out on this opportunity!

Are they now saying he is 6'5"? Has he grown an inch?

 

This kid is a good player. I have seen this kid play since he was in 5th grade when he played for the Yellow Jackets AAU team out of Louisville.

 

I saw him play this summer. I walked next to him. I don't think he is 6'5". He might not even be 6'4". All that said he is a very good player and I wish him the best.

 

I will say this, he undoubtedly has some great promoters touting his abilities.

I think it is highly interesting you have pointed out flaws on two non-11th region players that happen to be tops in the state. First Penny and now Jenkins. Good work Jenkins. Keep it up.

Actually I think Jenkins is a good player as I pointed out in my post. I guess I am just old school and believe that players just need to let there play on the court do their talking. I think Jenkins will do just fine, and probably better if he doesn't feel the pressure from all the hype.

Players like Jenkins, Hood, and even Euton in your region are going to be watched. Pressure comes with the territory. I know Greg Johnson in the 5th region at North is getting a lot of PR right now and I see him doing just fine too. The Holmes players are included too.

Sure it does, but those that can stay in the moment will handle it best. Those that worry about what others think, think about their stats constantly, or for that matter constantly think about what college looks they are getting, are likely to under perform under pressure.

 

Anyone who plays golf will tell you that they play their best when they stay in the moment, and play one shot at a time. Players on the PGA tour say this all the time.

I don't know a great deal about Manual's history but I do know last season was one of their best in many year's. A lot of that had to do with Jenkins' performances in big games and hitting some clutch shots. Some players thrive of pressure.

 

I would say Scott County has the most pressure this season and a lot of stars are going to be looking at their own stats. They are everybody's preseason favorites. That is why I'm excited about NH. No one expects the Trojans to compete for title and go by your theory there's no pressure either.

Without Jenkins Manual's doesn't win 10 games last year. He is by far the BEST combo guard in the state, I just wish BCG would notice this and get this kid signed! I would hate to see another KY talent get away. He has it all and with his improved "D" this year, he will be wearing the #1 jersey in the KY/IN All-star game.

I don't know. Jenkins was more productive in both allstar games this year. Saw Hood and Jenkins ove the summer a few times during summer ball and we came away more impressed with Jenkins. Maybe the season will show Hood being better. It will be a god race.

Jenkins would have to be a lot better than Hood to get the award. Hood is a future UK player and has got a lot of publicity going in to the season. I also believe that Sanford and Phares have a shot at the award too.

If you think Jenkins doesn't have any shot to win Mr. Basketball, then you are mistaken. Hood and Jenkins both have a very good chance to win Mr. B, but anything can happen. I think that is why we play the games.

 

One thing is for sure, Jenkins must lead his team to the sweet sixteen to have any chance to win it. In the 7th it's much harder to pull this off.

 

Does Hood need to take his team to the state tourny in order to win Mr. B?
