October 9, 200818 yr According to talk radio Obama has 72 hours to produce birth certificate due to the Philip J. Berg lawsuit? I'm giving a link, but it is Bergs site. http://www.obamacrimes.com/ I thought this lawsuit was thrown out? How come the media isn't covering it? I in no way think he is an illegal but man this is crazy! Anyone have more info?
October 9, 200818 yr Author I have seen the BC before, my question is why is it still in court and not thrown out? Is this guy a total nut job?
October 9, 200818 yr The litigation is ongoing. Factcheck.org will not have the final say on this matter. A court will. I do not understand why Obama has not simply produced his birth certificate to the court and had Berg's lawsuit dismissed.
October 9, 200818 yr I have seen the BC before, my question is why is it still in court and not thrown out? Is this guy a total nut job? I believe that either the Daily Kos or Democratic Underground posted a bogus birth certificate on their site, which was quickly debunked. Berg's lawyer filed a motion, including an unsigned order for Obama to produce the birth certificate. Some overzealous Obama opponent overlooked the fact that the document had not been signed by the judge and posted it on some right wing web sites. As far as I know, the judge has not yet made a ruling and if he had, it would have been mentioned on Rush or Hannity, which it was not.

Refusing to report on or acknowledge an active lawsuit against a prospective presidential candidate could be considered desperate. While I do not believe that the lawsuit is likely to be relevant to the election, the fact that it has not yet been dismissed seems newsworthy.
October 11, 200818 yr I remain very skeptical but Berg does not strike me as a conspiracy nut. I do not see what Obama has to gain by refusing to produce an authentic birth certificate to get this lawsuit dismissed
October 12, 200818 yr Questions: Do presidential candidates not have to produce that documentation when they throw their hats in the ring? After watching the video, I have a bit of confusion. Berg says that FactCheck.org is a part of the Chicago based Annenberg organization. But Annenberg is affiliated with Penn, right?

Berg says that FactCheck.org is a part of the Chicago based Annenberg organization. But Annenberg is affiliated with Penn, right? :confused:Apparently candidates do not have to produce proof that they are natural born US citizens because Obama has refused to produce his in the Berg case. The Annenberg Foundation has offices in Radnor, PA and Los Angeles, but the same group funded the Chicago Annenberg Challenge that funds Factcheck.org if I am not mistaken. I have never been too impressed with Factcheck.org. I exchanged a few emails with Brookes Jackson about six years ago and Jackson never corrected the errors that I pointed out to him. (I don't remember what the issue was now but I provided proof that Jackson was wrong, he did not dispute the facts but still did not correct the record.) As I said before, I am skeptical of Berg's claim but this is not an issue that will go away if Obama does not produce a valid US birth certificate or if a legitimate Kenyan birth certificate or proof of Indonesian citizenship surfaces.

Hmm...well, I find it a little wierd that the constitution stipulates one must be a natural born citizen, yet there's no requirement as a matter of course? I looked through the factcheck site and found only the link to the Annenburg Policy site that is affiliated with Penn. I'll keep searching, though.

The Annenberg Foundation is a trust set up by Walter and Leonore Annenberg, which is currently chaired by Leonore. The Chicago Annenberg Challenge was set up from a grant from the Annenberg Foundation. (Also of importance: the Annenbergs, including Leonore, are conservatives.) Hope that helps.
