October 3, 200818 yr I don't know if that is true that anyone thought that, but I guess you may be right. Dig in the archives (I don't have time) but I distinctly remember some on here stating the scenario that October would show a rise in support for McCain and by November he would win "going away." Now of course any and all of that is still possible, however this was what a few on here posted. Whether they thought it is a different thing but they did post it.
October 3, 200818 yr I'll help save some time... I was probably one of the ones predicting a substantial win for McCain following the GOP convention.
October 3, 200818 yr No. There were some on here that predicted a McCain blowout by November. Of course that was after the boost from the RNC and before the economy blew up. On a right leaning website that should not be a big suprise. However, I think most of our posters are intelligent enough to know that anything besides an Obama (or Democratic) win in this election would be a big shock. In my opinon, the fact the race is as close as it is shows how bad of a state the Democratic party is in. There should be no reason the Democrats should not dominate this election given the President's lack of approval and the current state of affairs. And given the state of how bad the Republican party is, it should be a sign we need to blow things up and start with something fresh.... Despite what you may think, it is a big reason voices like Sarah Palin resognate with voters.

(BTW, thanks Fastbreak, I thought I recalled something of a conversation on here once but people were beginning to make me think I was losing my mind.) Second part, I agree totally. Only the Dems could have botched this election into a race and that is what should alarm their party.

October 3, 200818 yr I think the bigger issue for McCain is the leads that Obama is taking in some of the swing states.
