Jim Bunning

Hyperbaric chamber, trying to slow the deterioration of his brain. Either that, or trying to find new ways to call Mongiardo gay, and new people to do it for him.

Plausible.

Edit: I should have said: Plausible explanation.

I've heard that Trey will take a shot at the governor's office.

He thought about it a few years ago, but Trey's daddy was a banker in NKY and he has exceptional support there. If Bunning's seat is open, I'd lay even money on going for Senator.

Trey is top-drawer talent. I advise all of you to go see him, find out about him. Both parties love him. John Y. Brown loves him. He is young, extremely bright, an incredibly pleasant young man, what he has done in the SOS office is amazing, has bipartisan consensus-building experience. He holds some classically conservative philosophies but does not flaunt them or even talk about them extensively. He's a policy guy with a sophisticated finance and banking background, and he's got a law degree.

Agreed. I have been impressed with the changes he has made in the SOS office. See, I really am capable of being bi-partisan.;)

If it makes any difference, I would consider voting for him. (I'm sure my grandmother is spinning in her grave right now.)

Seriously, though, he seems reasonable and bright, with the emphasis on reasonable. That's a trait I wish David Williams would adopt.

I'll say. He graduated with Honors from Harvard with an A.B. in government. Pretty impressive.

Oh snap! I thought being educated was a problem for Republicans? Especially Ivy League? Wouldn't that make him ... (gasp) ... an elitist? :D

Probably Greg Stumbo, which would be a shame. Maybe Ben Chandler, but I'm skeptical as to whether he could win a statewide election. After that, I don't know. I'm not sure if Mongiardo wants to take another swing at it; something tells me he'd rather wait and go after the Gov's chair when Beshear's done.

I could see Crit Luallen or Jack Conway giving it a try. I'm hearing Jonathan Miller is wanting to run...

Grayson is a closet democrat...

Crit Luallen is too abrasive, and too much of a technocrat. Conway needs more time in office before tackling something that big. Same goes for Miller.

Naw. He's a Dixie Heights grad. That public schooling has kept him grounded.

Grayson and Miller have basicly the same experience... BTW, could you imagine Greg Stumbo and Bruce Lunsford as our two U.S. senators? Talk about baggage!

I couldn't support that under any circumstance. Baggage aside, both are complete jerks. (Not that I'll vote for McConnell, mind you.)

And Grayson holds an office; Miller doesn't. And that makes a big difference.

Lusford is definitly a jerk but I like Greg, he's always been friendly to me...

Both served two terms and Miller has already ran for Governor...
