Powell Co. 33 Fleming Co. 0

Featured Replies

Shutout twice in two weeks. I dont know if that has ever happened to a Panther team. The offense is non existant. Congrats to Powell. By the way I loved the onside kick at the end of the game. Nice touch.

I sure didn't see this kind of score in this one. Did Newsome play QB?

To answer your question no Newsom did not play in the game, neither did Fleming's starting LT, C, RG, or RB. Also on defense Fleming was missing their entire starting DL, along with two starting LBs (this was important because those LBs backups were hurt as well)...probably would have been easier to've typed which normal starters actually played.

When you said everybody is hurt you sure meant EVERYBODY & then some.

LOL next week hope everyone is back & healthy soon.

So 11 guys that you listed that played last week did not play last night? Did all of them just get hurt or what? I know what happened to two fo them, as far as sitting out.

5 of the starters play both ways--a lot of ironman in Fleming County--we actually had 4 out due to injuries sustained in the Harlan game, 2 out b/c they were injected from the Harlan game-for the 11 total. Both of the backup LBs were injured in the JV Monday night and did not dress. Our starting wide recievers were in the game but playing QB and running back. Our only offensive lineman that played in his normal poisition was at RT. It was a long night.

It was Fleming Co's freshman/jv team that played Powell's varsity basically.

Thanks for the info. I had heard that the QB wasn't going to play, just wanted to verify.

I'll be glad when Fleming returns to the Russell/Mason district. The FC-MC game, rivalry game that it is, should have district implications.
