September 25, 200817 yr Braves can compete with the Phillies and Mets, it's the teams out of the division that they can't beat. Braves had a horrible luck of injuries this season and never really were fully healthy for any stretch of the season. I hate that for really any team. This offseason should be an interesting one to say the least.. And to think, before A-Rod went to Texas he almost came to Atlanta!

Your inclusion of Minnesota is not warranted. Twins fans always packed the Metrodome during the halcyon days of Kent Hrbek and Kirby Puckett. They've just been jacked around by MLB and the team's ownership. And Angels fans turn out during the playoffs, and Marlins "fans" do as well.

And Angels fans turn out during the playoffs, and Marlins "fans" do as well. The Twins have been a playoff contender for nearly the past decade, including this season. The Braves used to fill the stands back in the days of David Justice and Fred McGriff as well. In fact, when the Braves and Twins met in the World Series (and how long ago has it been now since your example took place?) the Barve's maxed out attendance as well. Fans will show up no matter who is jacking the team around, the Twins' attendance is poor now. Angels' attendance is attrocious unless they are in the ALCS or World Series. The only team who has been better than the Angels in recent years are the Red Sox, yet the Angels attendance is awful. And there is no "jacking around" there, the Angels have one of the largest pay-rolls in professional baseball. Marlins "fans" must only be about 12,00 in number. Exempting teams who only make the playoffs once in a blue moon or never like the Reds (and thus will have the sellout crowds because of the "it" factor) please name the MLB franchises outside of Boston, New York, Chicago, LA Dodgers who surpass the Braves' in attendance on a yearly basis? In my estimation I can only think of St. Louis. There were over 40K fans at the last Brave' s home game event hough they have been statistically eliminated for a long time, how many other teams will be able to say that?
