Uh Oh...they could be for real

Tonight, at Ballaban Field at St. Xavier Stadium, the Cincinnati St. Xavier Bombers knocked off the USAToday Ranked #4 team in the country, the Don Bosco Prep Ironmen of New Jersey by a score of 17-10.

DBP was held to ZERO offensive TD's for the ENTIRE GAME!! Their 29 game win streak was also snapped.

This is the 4th game in a row that St. Xavier has failed to score more than 17 points in a game, and yet they are 3-1 after beating Prattville (AL), Indy Cathedral (IN) and now, DBP (NJ). Still winless in OH though....

The Bombers are packing up their defensive machine and heading to Jefferson Cty next weekend to take on the Rocks. I hope you boys still use that fancy, new-fangled "forward pass" thingy because there is no way you are going to effectively run the ball on this defense...I promise you that.

PS: I personally think that Trinity, moreso than any other team on X's remaining schedule, has the best shot at beating them. Should be a great game.

T moved the ball effectively last year against Cincy X, but couldn't stop the Bomber's O. Two excellent coaching staffs locking horns, so it will be fun to see this one play out.

Upset? Do you think the Rocks are favored?

Upset? Do you think the Rocks are favored?

I really don't think anyone in the Trinity camp is thinking that.

I think the upset was the Bombers win over USA Today's #4 DBP.

The DBP folks were talking as if this could be one of the better , if not the best, DBP team ever.

It was their first game of the season.

One thing about X...They haven't exactly set the world on fire on the offensive end, so, If Trinity can manage a couple of big plays or early scores, I don't think they'll have too easy a time coming back, but, T's D is going to have to come to play, for sure..I expect this to be a low scoring game..I'm giving the edge to X, but, it'll be close...
