For the streak, Les and Rome, is what I was talking about on revenge. The Hounds would like to have a win streak on the Cards now. I know that Corbin won last year. I know they would like to get it back, but people were starting to think the Cards owned the Hounds for awhile. They want to get that all behind them.

I think Corbin can come up with enough stops to outscore South. The South Offense is very good and will put up some points. The team that gets three to four stops should take this one. Ball security will be very important as well. If the Hounds put the ball on the ground or if South throws a couple of Int's then the score could turn quickly. I would be willing to say this will be a huge crowd on Friday night.

I think Corbin will win had the week off to prepare a little more.

Corbin has had problems when south speeds up the tempo of the game in years past. A lot of South's scores in recent years has been because the Corbin kids could not handle the no huddle. I remember Corbin having trouble with that in 2004 with Williamsburg as well. When you use some of your best offensive players to cover they tend to wear out!!!

 

I think you are right. Corbin must control the ball and keep the South Laurel offense on the sideline. I'm hoping that Fritts does not take over for the injured Foley at LB since Corbin's other two main RB's(Watkins & Campbell) are already playing the LB spot and will have to cover receivers much of the night. Maybe a couple of reserves will step up for the Hounds this week.

The key factor may be time of possession. Corbin will move the ball on the ground and South will move ball through the air. Like Bear Bryant used to say when you throw the ball only three things can happen and two of them are bad. Corbin has some athletes in the secondary who can make plays and cause a couple of those bad things to happen. I think Corbin's ground game will be the deciding factor in the game, in that they will keep the ball away from the South offense for most of the night with long grinding punishing drives, that will take the wind out of the Cardinals.

Corbin should be able to score some points on the Cards defense. The question is whether the Hounds can stop the Cards on offense. Pass defense will be a huge key for the Hounds.

Hate to hear this for Brady. Not doubt he will be missed on the gridiron this season. Corbin's 9th graders have had their fair share of injuries. Smith, West and now Foley. That is three strong kids who have had bad luck this season for the Hounds. Any word on how Smith and West are coming along? Any chance either will return this season?
