I hope the starters were out at half time and they didn't run up the score.

If they did there may be some people like Ivan Maglone take it a little personal

and thats not good but if the starters were out at the half congrats to Mason Co.

1 other Mason Co RB scored 2 TD's

Starters only played the 1st Half

Good to see that the Royals showed some class and pulled the starters after 1 half.

Tough to see anyone lose this way.

Rule 13

Mason got a 49-yard touchdown run from Akeem Jackson on the second play of the second half, and with the clock running and several reserves in the game, got touchdown runs of 63 and seven yards by Xavia Shurn.

"They did a good job and I was happy for them," Buchanan said of the younger Royals, many of whom got to see their first varsity action. "They get beat up on the scout team Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and I was happy they got to shine a little bit tonight and do some good things."

Mason County went on to outgain Lewis County 517-136 yards for the game. Gilbert led the Royals with 116 yards receiving while the team got a balanced ground attack from Jackson, Shurn and Thompson, who had 88, 87 and 78 yards, respectively.

Figured this would be an issue to some this morning. Just wanted to let the fans know that programs can be purchased before the game and the PA announcer does tell the fans who the starters are before the game begins. Mason threw zero passes in the second half. No running up the score took place. When you run the ball and the other team doesn't tackle you, that does not constitute running up the score. If you would like you can refer to the link that has been provided on this thread and you will see that the back-up tailback scored the first TD in the second half, not a starter.

Congratulations to the Royals!

I agree... its tough!

BUT...

The Royals show class week in and week out. Anyone that knows anything about Coach Buchanan and how he runs his program knows he is nothing but class. Homeless and James-Russell should rest assured that Coach B would not run the score up and Ivan McGlone knows him better than that.

Its all good!:thumb:
