September 11, 200818 yr If this happens, there is a good possibility that Pelosi could end up as president. As I understand as Habib describes it, each state gets one vote so If there are four R and four D representatives, that state would essentially not have a vote counted. To be elected the president has to get 26 votes in the house. The senate does the same for the vice president. If neither has come to an agreement by the date of the innauguration, then current Speaker of the House becomes president... (GOD help us all if that happens).

I think I'd rather the world explode than that happen.
September 11, 200818 yr Independent! Seriously, I don't know..."Libertarian"? I hope it isn't the Constitution party. I really would make, and hold myself to, one of those "I'll move out of the country" promises if they ever assumed power. Ron Paul  ^ I will say Constitution or the Libertarian Party. Or the BGP Party It is the Constitution Party. Habib, what is your problem with them?

September 11, 200818 yr It is the Constitution Party. Habib, what is your problem with them? Protectionism, isolationism, their very perverted view of the freedom of speech, and their generally very odd, religiously tinged interpretation of the Constitution to justify their stance on the freedom of speech, for example.

Agreed that protectionism is a bad thing, that was my one main beef with them. Are they more isolationist than the Libertarians? I am not familiar with their stance on freedom of speech that you speak of.

Libertarians could be as isolationist, but they get to it in a very different way.
