However, it was 6 1/2 months ago the McCreary Central Basketball Team was shocked in the District Tournament by Southwestern, who had won only 4 games to that point.

Yes sir, the ball definately dosen't bounce straight on the gridiron. However, dependeing on the strengths and weeknesses of a team you can make an objective and somewhat reliable prediction. Leslie Co has given up 92 points and scored 8 points in their first 2 games. Mccreary has given up 70 points and scored 64 points in their first 2 games. Taking all of that into consideration and if I thought this game might be close I definately wouldn't have the score of this game 16-15, maybe 36-35. Anyway, I wasn't laughing at who was predicted to win just the low score. I predict MC to put up atleast 34 points. I don't know enough about Leslie's "O" to say but they have only scored 8 in 2 games but MC's defense hasn't proven to be very strong so I will say they will score 3 TD's. Final score MC 34 LC 21!

As I said in a post just a minute ago, I was not laughing at the prediction of who won or lost but at the low score. If it plays out anything like the first 2 weeks for these teams the score will be much higher! Sorry if I offended you because that was not my intent and I should have explained why I was laughing.

I think that McCreary is overated. Watts is a good player, but he can only take you so far. I know Bronco99 is a great fan, but sometimes we as fans get our school colored glasses on and dont think clearly. I applaud Bronco99 for his school spirit and McCreary may squeak one out here, but they wont win many unless its one of its 1A schools on the schedule.

After making my prediction, I checked the Lit Ratings. MC is a 30 point favorite. I will still stand by prediction because I am a stand up guy. As for Basketball, just making a point that you never know in athletics because you are dealing with 15-18 year olds. I made the point because I thought you were laughing at me picking Leslie. However, you may be laughing when all is said and done. Just a misunderstanding. Everything is good.

Leslie County wins one late 21-20

In a Coaching match-up I would give Leslie a clear advantage. But as you know it is not all about X's and O's more about the Jimmy's and Joe's.

I say McCreary Co should win this game but I would not be suprised to see this go the other way. McCreary will have the most talent on the field (but sometimes that is not enough for the raiders). McCreary needs to get things really rolling early and not let Leslie County hang in this game.

Everyone wants to talk about Watts and that's great he is an outstanding athlete and a nice young man who deserves the attention. He is MC's X factor and has rushed for around 350 yards in the first two games. However, MC has already had a sophmore who was up for the ironman award for his performance in the first game and the same young man had a 90+yard TD reception against W-burg. Another one of MC's receivers has had atleast 1 TD reception in each of the two games and a couple more receivers have caught TD reception. Also, the back-up QB has thrown a TD. The tailback for MC has rushed for well over 100 yards per game and with the total offense being 800 yards plus for the first 2 games you would have to say the "O" line is better than average and getting better each week. So as good as Watts is he is still not a one man show by no means! Oh yea, I almost forgot I am a huge Raider fan in the good times and the bad but I try to be realistic about things as well, I mean you have never heard me say that the Raiders will go 10-0 and win 3 games in the playoffs or anything like that so, even though I would love to see the Raiders win every football game they play I know with the Bell Co's, Rockcastle's, Knox Co's and Madison Southern's that we have to play that would be unrealistic. It will be a very very tough task to win any of those types of games but they are working hard and are starting to compete with some of these teams and as a fan and a father that is all one can ask for!

You are right the last two years they have improved, but I think the biggest part of that is the Watt's kid. He can score on any given play. I think he is the best overall athlete in the mountains he is just on a team that is not as competative.
