I'm not blaming Petrino, but that seems to be the main reason everyone is stating for the problems UL is now having.

as much $ as coach k is paid, fans and the univ have the right to expect W's or have the right to complain if they are not winning

I'll still contend that things weren't as bad when Petrino was there, the bad seeds may have been there but they didn't bloom until until Louisville started losing.

You may blame Petrino for picking some bad seeds, but if he kept them under control, how is it really his fault?

I'm not buying the "Petrino left a mess" excuse either. First of all, when you hire a new coach, if you're truly committed to him, then you should allow him to pick his own staff. Huge mistake. The odds of that arrangement working out are pretty low. That's on Jurich.

 

Louisville's football team is still in a good position. They've had success and they're in a BCS conference. There isn't a school in the Big East right now that looks poised to run away and dominate the conference, unless USF does that. There are questions at West Virginia with a new coach. The other up-and-comers still have work to do. It's not like it's going to be a long climb back to contention for the Cardinals.

 

They just have to be patient...like the 3% of UK fans who supported Rich Brooks from the word go.
