Go Bucs!

Back-to-back trips to the PC Bowl for Holy Cross, back-to-back times that they have laid an egg! Needless to say I am not impressed with their program!

I would love to see Belfry play Bell Co next year in the Pike Co bowl.

How did Ivan(BIG DAWG) Lee do?

Who does Belfry play next?

Classy response .... Belfrfy is for real and way ahead of cross it looks like . Tough for 1A program to take on the big boys . Had to cancel my trip down at last minute but heard Belfry was a class act . Also heaqrd Cross didn't play too bad . I don't know if that is good or bad for Cross ....

Finally back in Georgia, here's my thoughts:

1. Holy Cross looked like a 1A team playing a 3A team. Belfry just had more sheer numbers, more depth, and more athletes. HC played hard but they couldn't match up with Belfry's size. Holy Cross offensively had moments of effectiveness, Nauert is a tough nosed kid and Hazelwood is an exceptional wideout.

2. Belfry gained over 450 yards rushing in this one. They had three backs each over 125 yards a piece and all of them did it in less than 10 carries. Ivan Lee and Thomas Varney were very impressive, Thomas Varney literally can do anything on the football field well: Run, Pass, Catch, Punt, Kickoff, Kick PAT's, Return punts, Returns Kickoffs, Play CB, Play Safety.... a phenominal talent who has added alot fo strength since last season. He may be the most versatile player to come through Belfry in a long time.

3. Where did Chase Maynard come from!?!??!?! 3 carries for over 150 yards and 2 TD!

4. Gary Hall was everywhere, 15 tackles and 3 sacks. Charlie Dotson added 14 tackles. Those two wreaked havoc on HC all night.

5. Belfry definately has alot of work to do, as well they should. Not having Chancey Cisaco at Center caused a couple fumble problems, a few of the young defensive players typically got to the right spot on defense, but then would miss a tackle or overpursue. Pass blocking needs improvement as Elkins got killed from the blindside once by an unblocked man.
