Clay has some serious work to do on defense, a couple turnovers and bone headed penalties sealed the deal for the tigers. However I did see so much promise from them and Zack Lewis is the real deal I don't know how many yards he had but he had plenty but I bet he'd take zero yards passing for the W.

 

Does anyone have an update on the KC kid who got hurt, I heard they had to fly him out.

If you told me Clay was going to give up 26 before the game I would have been tickled with that and marked it down as a win. Only scoring 13 is what worries me. C.J. Miller is the most punishing runner I've seen at Clay since Kenneth Mitchell. If you want to tackle Miller, expect a headache. Clay has an awesome QB in Lewis and a very good bunch of receivers along with Miller and Nolan in the backfield, add that to an improving O-Line (thought the O-Line played well) and that's why 13 points worries me. Maybe Knox's defense has our number. It looked like they were playing seven DB's at times and our running game was working pretty good. Running on first down most of the time helped Knox settle in I think. Holding on to the ball when our offense is clicking would also help. I think Clay will be fine. Next weeks game at Leslie should show improvement on both sides of the ball.

Young man's name is Ralston and like everyone else I have nothing official but have heard it was a stinger. I hope so.

Wayne Mills knows defense and his team plays it hard. The defensive MVP trophy went to the entire defensive unit. KC now 3-0 in the Pioneer bowl.

 

Dexter Carnes and the KC offensive line were tremendous. I would be interested to see the stats, I would wager the other backs combined for well over 100 yards also.

2nd half was nothing like the first for either team.

1st half was where the fun was.

Clay is going to have to look better than last night to help Lewis break Couch's record. If they keep up like they looked, Couch will be fairly safe. Could be a nail biter at the end of the season, but not a mid-season breaking of the current record.

I posted this on another thread but think that it needs to be where it will be seen by all the teams from the Pioneer Bowl last night:

 

I want to thank all the kids and coaches from all the schools that participated in this year's Pioneer Bowl. They were fed after the game in a hospitality tent and were the most gracious and friendly bunches of kids and coaches we've been around. Players, Parents and Coaches are to be commended on 4 fine groups of young men. Keep up the good work, everyone.
