Any details on how the Breds looked?

Breds gave up some early yards on the ground before they woke up. Long run on first play, Holmes didn't get much after that. Breds have a lot of weapons this year. They are more talented than last year, Seniors are really good. Maybe lack the intensity of last years team however.

How about execution? That was the achilles heel of last year's team.

How are they so good when hardly any of the seniors have experience. With two returning on D and three of the top recievers gone.:confused:

Because there are some really good juniors and sophomores as well as the returning seniors.

It;s funny how some of the NCC people were on here sandbagging last month when the fun rankings began. I had Fort Campbell and NewCath 1-2 and still feel that way, even if the NewCath people are still sandbagging. :lol:

I thought that Kues looked a little rusty. But Mark Kelly is going to be very good this year and the receivers are pretty good as well. Execution was just okay but lets remember that this was the first game action of the year

I don't think anyone is sandbagging. This is an unknown commodity this year. W/ Kues and Kelly back, the offense had a good foundation for its skill positions. However, the offensive line has three new starters and the D returns two starters, maybe. The one thing that NewCath is never short on is athletes. Since NewCath committed to the spread in late '99 and an aggressive 4-4 defense, the program has taken off. The combination of good coaching with good athletes should keep NewCath solid every year. We just can't be sure if they are #2 in the state good until the season starts.

Last year high snaps were a problem and in this scrimmage they had a lot of high snaps as well

Of course the part of me that bleeds blue and gold still thinks that they are #1 in the state!

 

Don't underestimate the offensive line. Garret Brown and Michael Leopold have been playing next to each other on the line since they were 5 years old and they have been playing along side Mark Kelly, Justin Jones, and Matthew Johnson for the same amount of time. They all have a very solid background. They had some EXCELLENT coaches growing up and that has just served as a solid foundation for their years as Thouroughbreds! I think everyone will be pleasantly surprised at the execution of the line once they get the kinks out.

I can't get over the fact that Garret is a Junior all ready. He has always been a very aggressive kid. That comes with the territory when you are the youngest. I know that his Dad and brother will have him working very hard, not to mention the rest of his family. I hope, and know, that he will have a great year.

Yes, he's a great young man and comes from great parents as well. I hope that they all have a great year.
