August 14, 200818 yr I think they have to be the odds on favorite right now. I haven't looked at the Vegas lines but I would bet the are the pick right now. They are loaded! They were loaded before Texiera came so now they are really loaded!
August 14, 200818 yr I love how they play by the way. I'd love to see the DRays win it too since they might not ever have a chance again. It's going to hurt having Longoria out. I think it will be interesting to see if they go after Bonds down the stretch.
August 14, 200818 yr Call me a West Coast hater, but if the White Sox win the Central and the Wild Card comes out of the East, I think the Angels might lose in the 1st round. If they get the Twins in the first round, they win easily and advance to the ALCS where they will likely lose. :lol: Something about them bothers me and I'm sure it's nothing more than the fact that I don't like them. I have happily eaten crow before and will do so again when the time comes. Until someone beats Boston in the post season, they are my pick. Of course if the White Sox managed to win, I wouldn't complain, I just don't see that happening this year.
August 14, 200818 yr Author Well we all know Boston and NY are the best on paper and in payroll but to me the Angels are the best team as of right now. I like TB as well but Longoria going down blew their chances of continuing their fantasy season. I would love to see the Cubs/Angels World Series.
August 14, 200818 yr I agree, I am picking the Angels to take it all as well. Loaded with talent and one of the very best managers in all of baseball imo. That (the Angels) my friend.....is a baseball team. IMO the BoSox could possibly challenge them, they have the horses to do so but I don't think so this season. Oh yeah - GO YANKEES!!! C-Soto vs. Varitek---If we go this year alone, obviously the advantage is Cubs. 1B-Youk vs. Lee----If we go this year alone, Youk. 2B-Pedroia vs. ???---Either way, Pedroia easy. SS-Lugo vs. Theroit---I'll give the edge to the Cubs, but its a push IMO. 3B-Lowell vs. Ramierz---Lowell by a hair, but I could see the arguement for a push. OF-Fukadome, Soriano, Edmonds vs. Bay, Ellsbury, & Drew---I'll take all 3 of the Sox over either Edmonds or Fukadome, so I'll give the edge to Boston. DH-Ortiz vs. ???---Ortiz is the best in the game at what he does. SP- Z, Dempster, Lilly, Harden, and Marquis vs. Beckett, DiceK, Lester, Byrd, Wakefield---This is tough to compare, as I think the Sox have the best guy (Beckett), but the Cubs have more depth....I'll give it to the Cubs. RP-Sox Manager- As much as I love Lou, Tito is one of the best two in the game right now along with the man in Anaheim....

I am no way a cub fan but they have the advantage at those two positions. Lowell just went on the DL and has not done much over the past month of the season.
